For this summer edition of Nuit des Bains, La Galerie 38 is delighted to announce its first participation as a new member of the Quartier des Bains, following its previous openings in Casablanca and Marrakech. This is a significant moment for us, and we are thrilled to open our doors for this special evening dedicated to contemporary art and shared experiences.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, our inaugural exhibition in Geneva, titled “Anima Mundi”, will be exceptionally extended and open to the public throughout the evening. This group exhibition brings together works by four African artists, each of whom explores in their own unique way our relationship to the visible, the sensitive, and the invisible.<\/p>\n

Why “Anima Mundi”?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Because this deeply evocative title refers to the Soul of the World\u2014the universal and cosmic principle that animates, connects, and gives meaning to all that exists. It suggests a hidden presence, a source of life and truth flowing through nature, beings, and forms\u2014something that art strives to reveal.<\/p>\n

The exhibition “Anima Mundi” does not seek to represent the world as it is commonly perceived\u2014functional, utilitarian, or confined to the known. Quite the opposite: the works on view invite us to look beyond appearances, to overflow the real in order to reach what is not immediately visible. They summon that mysterious and sacred dimension of existence that only artistic intuition seems capable of touching.<\/p>\n

Each piece, each medium, each artistic gesture becomes a quiet call to transcendence. The artist takes the risk of delving into the unfathomable depths of the Soul\u2014this inexhaustible source that Heraclitus once described as more vast than all things\u2014while the viewer is likewise challenged. Will they dare to light their inner lamp? Will they enter into this poetic relationship with Meaning, beyond the surface of things?<\/p>\n
