Adjaratou Ouedraogo

Adjaratou Ouedraogo, born in Lomé in 1981, is a Togolese artist residing in Burkina Faso. Her art explores themes of memory and resilience. Since 2000, she has cultivated a richly colored body of work, blending painting, drawing, and sculpture, with inspirations drawn from African textiles. Her unique creative process brings forth figures from her past, navigating the space between abstraction and figuration.

Internationally recognized, she has exhibited in prestigious venues such as La Maison Rouge and the Institut Culturel Français. Her works, held in collections worldwide, attest to her acclaim. She is also an award-winning animated film director. Adjaratou Ouedraogo, a major figure in contemporary African art, creates a colorful and poetic universe, bridging introspection and collective memory.
