Carlos Salas
Carlos Salas, a Colombian artist born in Bogotá, is renowned for his innovative exploration of materials and forms. A graduate of the University of the Arts in Bogotá and trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he creates multidisciplinary works encompassing painting, sculpture and installation. His work, influenced by Colombian landscapes and the urban environment, fuses abstract elements with natural inspirations, questioning the relationship between space, time and matter. In 2016, he presented a major exhibition, ‘The Heart of the Matter’, at White Box NYC, hailed for its exploration of themes of materiality and emotion. His work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in Bogotá and features in prestigious collections internationally. Carlos Salas continues to push back the boundaries of contemporary art with a practice that deeply engages the viewer in a reflection on the contemporary world.
