THE MANIFESTO OF POSSIBILITIES
15 Years of Vision by Galerie 38
Volume I
In December 2010, Galerie 38 opened its doors for the first time in Casablanca.
A space, a gesture, and already a promise for the future: that of two visionaries, Fihr Kettani and Mohammed Chaoui El Faiz, who believed that beyond visible borders, art possesses the power to draw its own lines of force. Fifteen years later, the momentum remains intact—yet it has evolved, expanded, and projected itself far beyond what could have been imagined.
For if this fifteenth anniversary marks a milestone, it is not an endpoint.
It is a threshold, a passage, an opening toward new possibilities.
Not a nostalgic gaze upon what has been accomplished, but a movement toward the future.
A projection.
A vision.
A manifesto.
Galerie 38 celebrates fifteen years of existence by declaring what it chooses to manifest for the years to come.
We manifest the future.
At a time when the art world is redefining itself—accelerating, fragmenting at times—we affirm a simple conviction: art remains a powerful engine of profound transformation, a territory where futures are imagined, tested, and shaped.
We manifest an art that is no longer content with being merely displayed, but one that acts, engages in dialogue, stimulates, and challenges.
We manifest an African art scene fully inscribed within the global map of creation.
Not as a peripheral voice, but as a driving, inspiring, and structuring force.
We manifest audacity.
The audacity to continue representing artists who question the world, reinvent their mediums, and push their limits.
The audacity to build bridges between generations, continents, traditions, and visual languages.
We manifest expansion.
What was once a Casablanca-based gallery in 2010 has become a living, evolving ecosystem.
After Casablanca, Marrakech in 2023: a pivotal, vibrant city where the dialogue between history and modernity fuels some of the most vital contemporary creations.
Then Geneva in 2025, through associate Julie Fazio, who brings an international expertise and a perspective deeply rooted in contemporary European, kinetic, and geometric art scenes.
These openings are not merely physical spaces.
They are acts of faith.
Ways of affirming that creation knows no limits, no geographies, no borders.
They form the backbone of a vision: a network of spaces where art circulates, resonates, transforms itself, encounters new audiences, and opens onto new perspectives.
We manifest a global dialogue.
Participating in international fairs such as 1-54 Art Fair, Abu Dhabi Art Fair, AKAA, Menart Fair, Urban Art Fair, Moderne Art Fair, KunstRAI Amsterdam, Africa Basel, Art Genève, and Art Dubai is not a simple geographical displacement.
It is a way of inhabiting the world—of durably inscribing the artists we support within a global movement, and of affirming that their voices converse with those of creators worldwide.
Each fair is a site of encounter, an open conversation, a place where collective memory is forged and new forms of belonging emerge.
We manifest creation.
Through our artist residencies—true laboratories of freedom where numerous artists have produced new and original works—Galerie 38 claims a fundamental mission: to support the creative act at its source.
To create the conditions in which intuition becomes form, ideas become works, and works become worlds.
We manifest total commitment:
To accompany, produce, disseminate, publish, and document.
For art fully exists only when it is supported, surrounded, and transmitted.
We manifest plurality.
The artists we represent—from Morocco, Africa, Europe, and beyond—compose a constantly shifting landscape.
Painting, sculpture, installation, photography: diversity is not an aesthetic choice; it is our way of inhabiting reality.
We hope the coming years will deepen this plurality even further, multiplying unexpected dialogues and bringing forth new, luminous, and necessary voices.
We manifest the continuity of a dream.
A dream initiated in 2010, expanded, transformed, and embodied in a shared vision:
The conviction that art can bring women and men closer together, create shared spaces, reinvent narratives, and restore imaginaries.
We manifest a future in which Galerie 38 is no longer merely a place, but a movement.
An impulse.
A trajectory.
A space where Africa dialogues with the world.
Where artists write possible futures.
Where creation remains an act of absolute freedom.
For the fifteen years to come, we manifest light.
Encounter.
Transmission.
Audacity.
And the infinite realm of possibilities.
