SOLY CISSE

An artist with protean talents and pictorial references from distant universes such as Francis Bacon and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Soly Cissé is mainly known for the production of acrylic paintings.

But during his residency at La Galerie 38, he produced works exclusively in oil paint on canvas. The artist has undertaken a real carnal work of the material by realizing his works with a brush, a knife and also with full hands. This movement, this freedom in the creative gesture can be felt in front of the artist’s paintings. Leaving the viewer’s eyes free to interpret the choreography of powerful silhouettes anchored in swirls of colored matter.
