For the 1-54 Paris, La Galerie 38 is part of the theme “Lines and colors of abstraction”. It offers an artistic dialogue between the works of Ghizlane Agzenaï, Mohamed Hamidi, Abdoulaye Konaté and Younes Khourassani.

“Lines and colors of abstraction”

“In art, there are no borders” said Victor Hugo. This quote is perfectly in line with the spirit of the program proposed by La Galerie 38 on the occasion of 1-54 Paris 2022. Through the establishment of dialogues between different generations of African and international artists, a real abolition of borders is offered to the public. A common thread emerges, however, that of a common language made possible by the forms and colors.

The quest for meaning, correlated here with a quest for aestheticism, in a world in perpetual motion, is what characterizes the artists exhibited by La Galerie 38. From the abstract and erotic modernity of the works of the master of the Casablanca School Mohamed Hamidi, to the energetic and vibrant totems of the rising Moroccan star Ghizlane Agzenaï, to the hypnotic canvases of the talented Younes Khourassani or the flamboyant intertwining of Abdoulaye Konaté, the visitor is offered a true journey through a variety of worlds. An artistic path where the limits, whether temporal or spatial, do not exist. An itinerary whose only destination would be the liberation as well stylistic as chromatic.

By highlighting these abstract artists with such plural points of view and techniques, La Galerie 38 wishes to emphasize the richness of contemporary creative diversity on the African continent.
