Fathiya Tahiri
Born in Rabat in 1959, Fathiya Tahiri is an iconic figure in contemporary Moroccan art. Her rich and diverse artistic career, spanning architecture, design, and visual arts, attests to a creative and innovative approach to space and matter.
The artist’s work travels the world through numerous international exhibitions. Notably, she has participated in the Venice Biennale in 2009, exhibited at the Shanghai Art Museum in 2011, the National Museum of China in 2013, and a group exhibition at the Arab World Institute in Paris in 2014. In 2019, Fathiya Tahiri was invited to exhibit her works at the large-scale, pan-African traveling exhibition “Lend me your dream,” followed by the Rabat Contemporary Art Biennale’s first edition, “A moment before the World,” and at the “Espace Muraille Galerie d’Art” in Geneva. In June 2023, she exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lisbon for “More than Blue – a journey through the history of Moroccan art.” In February 2024, she returned to Casablanca for a striking solo show at Galerie 38.
